Certificate Program “Building Information Modeling (BIM) Professional”: Program Begins on 12 November
Based on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach, our Certificate Program caters to the executive education needs of architects and structural engineers. This coming winter semester, the program starts on 12 November 2018 in Munich. Structured into three modules (BIM Basics/BIM in Practice/BIM Implementation), the Certificate Program “Building Information Modeling (BIM) Professional” provides participants with the necessary tools for the digital planning, construction, and operation of buildings.
The Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach is based on a cooperative workflow. Starting with a semantic, three-dimensional model of a building, BIM helps to capture, manage and communicate all relevant information during the building’s life cycle. It thereby unlocks valuable synergies between different stakeholders as well as more transparent hand-overs.
The program cultivates a workshop environment supplemented by case studies and group exercises, as well as interactive dialogues with Germany’s leading BIM experts as lecturers. Upon successful completion of the part-time program, participants receive their certificate as BIM Professionals.
The course curriculum was developed in close cooperation with TUM’s Leonhard Obermeyer Center: The Chair for Architectural Informatics combines the exceptionally broad scientific expertise in the field of digital methods for the built environment at TUM with a strong emphasis on cross-disciplinary exchange. Additional program partners include HOCHTIEF Vicon, the RUB Academy as well as the Bavarian Architectural Association.
