Master in Management & Innovation Double Degree Track Participants Explored Future-Facing Technologies and Ethical Leadership in Munich

Starting off the new year, participants in our Double Degree Track of the Master in Management & Innovation program explored the focus area “Enterprises of the Future”.

From 7 – 11 January 2019, Prof. Dr. Oliver Alexy of the Entrepreneurship Research Institute at the TUM School of Management presented technologies impacting the future of business in his lecture “How Technology changes the Workplace”. Participants also had a chance to get a hands-on impression using the latest technological tools during a tour of the Virtual Reality Lab at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching.

During the module “Personal & Leadership Development” the focus was on ethical implications of leadership practice, outlined by Dipl.-Psych. Maxim Egorov and Dipl.-Psych. Ulf Steinberg, researchers at the TUM School of Management’s Chair of Research and Science Management.

Starting off the comprehensive “Project Work” module, during which participants will cover current questions of leadership in direct cooperation with businesses, Prof. Dr. Dr. Holger Patzelt of the TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute presented the latest insights in “Intrapreneurship”. Valuable tools for Conflict Management were provided in a workshop headed by Dr. Sylvia Hubner of the TUM School of Management’s Chair of Research and Science Management.

Rounding out the curriculum was a guest lecture by Simon Fischer, CEO of CLEVIS Research GmbH as well as a Virtual Reality Experience in the Presence Virtual Reality facility in Munich. This excurse provided a chance for participants to immerse themselves in virtual reality during a Holo Gate game.

Preview: Participants are Fine-Tuning Business Ideas in Preparation for Master’s Theses in the “Project Work” Module

Over the course of the next few weeks, our participants in the Master in Management & Innovation are working with businesses of all sizes – from start-ups to large-scale enterprises – during the “Project Work” module. The module requires a final chance to gain insights into key business processes and work on specific scenarios that are helpful for fine-tuning participants’ business ideas.

The final module of the winter semester will commence on 18 March 2019, which is also the last module before participants begin working on their Master’s Theses. The focus of the module lies with the final presentations of ongoing projects for a last opportunity to solicit feedback in preparation for thesis writing. We wish all of our participants the best during this exciting phase of their master’s degree program.

About the program: Specifically aimed at young professionals who recently graduated and earned their first professional experience, the English-language Master in Management & Innovation program is focused on the following areas: General Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology. Over the course of two years, the master’s degree program aims at the targeted development of leadership skills for innovation managers of the future ready to hold key positions in innovation management, process optimization, corporate development, and within a start-up environment.
