Participants in the TUM Track of our Master in Management & Innovation Complete Module “Production & Logistics”
The module on ”Production & Logistics” challenged our participants in the TUM Track of our Master in Management & Innovation: The large number of business calculations proved especially tough for participants with a Bachelor of Arts degree. But not to worry, they received help from their peers with a background in engineering. Next to calculations, the module also emphasized deep insights into corporate practice at leading companies.
During a field trip to the offices of German grocery chain retailer Lidl, the group received an introduction to Supply Chain- and Production Optimization by Thomas Richter and Daniel Öttinger, both key executives in international purchasing. During a Carton Simulation, the group learned surprising lessons on opportunities for process optimization. At a management talk session at the world’s second-largest electrical power plug manufacturer, Amphenol, managing director Ulrich Tröster explained the key skill sets required for his position.
The guest speaker presentation by Ömer Arslan, Director of Operations at logistics start-up Bouwhub Amsterdam was a special treat: It was organized by program participant Martin Jankoski, who knows Arskan from working several years for student organization ESTIEM.
Looking ahead, the third module – dedicated to “Financial Accounting” – will extend from December 2018 to January 2019 under the direction of TUM experts Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ernstberger and Prof. Dr. Gunther Friedl of the Chair for Controlling. Next to guest speakers from publicly-traded and market-leading industrial companies, the module will also feature a private Holiday celebration.
Accompanying the lectures, our Career Coaching Series will start in November. Over the course of three days, it will feature expert advice on job searches, applications, job interview strategies, as well as assessment centers and negotiating during contract talks. In order to supplement applications with professional visuals, participants will take professional headshots in a photo shoot. This will also provide an opportunity to take official group photos.
Last, but not least: In preparation of their Study Trip to China during the second semester, participants have been working hard in their complementary Chinese Language Courses since October. 直到下一次!
