Prof. Dr. Frank-Martin Belz at ARD Campus Talks: “Can companies save the world?”

Last month, Prof. Dr. Frank-Martin Belz gave a talk at the television program ARD Campus Talks of the educational channel ARD alpha. Prof. Belz addressed the question whether businesses are able to save the world. He states that businesses can do a lot against climate change, poverty and resource depletion, if profit maximization is not the only maxim.

Prof. Belz speaks of young entrepreneurs, who see social and ecological issues as new business opportunities. They develop new and innovative solutions and found sustainable start-ups that not only pursue profit, but have social and ecological benefits as well.
Prof. Belz hold the Chair of Corporate Sustainability at TUM School of Management and his research focuses on sustainable entrepreneurship. From 2014 to 2016, he coordinated the research project EU-InnovatE. The project investigated the creative, innovative and entrepreneurial roles of users in developing sustainable novel products, services and systems. Amongst many others, the Aalto University (Finland), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) were involved in the project.
