At the Tag der Fakultät on November 23, TUM School of Management was celebrating the 70 EMBA – graduates of its Executive Education programs for completing their studies after two years of hard work together with the 170 Master´s students.

Prof. Dr. Gunter Friedl, the dean of the TUM School of Management, opened the ceremony, a welcome speech was given by Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Senior Vice President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on behalf of TUM’s president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Herrmann. In her speech, Prof. Peus emphasized the achievements of the Technical University of Munich since its foundation 150 years ago and provided insights into current developments of the university. We are particularly pleased that we could win Ms. Hauke Stars, a member of the executive board of Deutsche Börse Group, as keynote speaker of the event.

After the opening speeches a variety of awards were given out before the graduating students received their degrees.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Hutzschenreuter, head of the chair of Strategic & International Management, was awarded the Executive Education Award for Teaching Excellence by Prof. Peus in her role as Vice Dean of Executive Education.

Prof. Hutzschenreuter was pleased being this year’s winner and stated: ”The Executive Education Award for Teaching Excellence means a lot to me since it shows how the participants in our EMBA programs value my teaching. Management education is ultimately assessed by how much impact it creates. Impact materialises in the decisions and behaviours of the practitioners in our programs. With their feedback they show what they think about the impact of my classes.”

Dr. Kristin Knipfer, Dr. Ellen Schmid, and Thomas Münch from the TUM School of Management, as well as Dr. Stefan Lülf of everskill GmbH, all received a Digital Innovations in Management Education Award.

Once the graduates received their degrees, some Interviews followed on stage. Lisa Stuhler was an MBA graduate, that answered some questions und explained how an MBA helped her to advance in her career: “The Executive MBA at the TUM was a springboard in my career and paved the way for me – I come from the fashion industry- into the consulting strategy, through the additional experience and contacts I made. In my job today, I combine both – my passion for fashion with the learnings from the MBA.”

Everyone from the TUM School of Management sincerely congratulates all our graduates, doctors and award winners and would like to thank all those involved for their participation and active involvement in the event.
