“The situation is turning everything upside down”

Not because online teaching has suddenly replaced classroom teaching, but because 85 percent of the students at the TUM-Campus Heilbronn come from abroad and have spent part of this summer semester in their home country. “The situation turns everything upside down,” says Professor Helmut Krcmar, Founding Dean TUM Campus Heilbronn and Vice Dean TUM School of Management in a recent interview with the Heilbronner Stimme. The question of where on is, is no longer decisive for the acquisition of knowledge. “The most important thing is that our students do not miss the semester,” says Krcmar.

In the interview, he goes on to talk about the sudden switch to online lectures, discusses the challenges and opportunities of virtual learning, especially for our students in Heilbronn, and gives a brief outlook on possible developments in the future.
