TUM School of Management joins elite circle of Triple Crown management schools after receiving AACSB accreditation

Munich, 25 July 2017 – TUM School of Management is the first management school at a German technical university to receive the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation in recognition of its excellence in technology-oriented teaching and research. The newly awarded AACSB accreditation complements the AMBA and EQUIS quality seals already held by the school to form the Triple Crown.

“Reaching Triple Crown status is a great honour for us,” says Gunther Friedl, dean of TUM School of Management. “It endorses our practice-based approach to management education at the interface with modern technology. In an age of rapid technological advances, management theory and practice must be revised completely. Organisational structures and professional profiles within businesses are becoming more fluid. The ability to innovate, flexibility and entrepreneurial thinking are core requirements for future managers. Triple Crown status endorses our strategy of providing these qualifications to an outstanding level.”

Triple Crown status confirms that TUM School of Management complies with the highest faculty standards and has implemented its strategy of providing management education at the interface between management and technology consistently and successfully.

The criteria for Triple Crown status include a highly international approach to teaching and research, high-quality networks of external partners, close links with the business community, highly qualified teaching staff, and high ethical, social responsibility and sustainability standards.
