TUM School of Management joins Google in organizing the Digital Workshop on Campus
Just before Christmas, the TUM served as a host for Google at the school’s Digital Workshop on Campus. The objective of the learning platform Digital Workshop was to expand the participants’ base of digital knowledge and help them become successful on the Web.
The workshop grew out of the German initiative Weltweit Wachsen that Google launched in 2014 with the partners BDO, Commerzbank, DHL, KERN AG, PayPal and bevh as well as the University of Leipzig and Reutlingen University. The workshops were held at 18 universities across Germany. The workshop conducted at TUM was organized by TUM School of Management and the TUM Management Alumni e.V. It had the largest number of attendees by far.
Held under the patronage of Professor Claudia Peus (TUM School of Management), the workshop attracted around 200 students, alumni and employees of the TUM for each slot of the three-day event. The participants heard talks on such topics as search engine optimization, social media, online advertising, video and internationalization. The guest addresses made by the marketing professors Christoph Fuchs and Christoph Ungemach of TUM School of Management made a particularly strong impression on the audience.
Alexander Sperber served as the trainer for the entire workshop. He is the managing director of Unitedads and FastCampus. He is also a member of the Google Partner Academy. “The workshop was designed to provide students with some practical knowledge that they will be able to use in their future careers or in their own start-ups,” Sperber said.
After successfully completing the course, participants were awarded an online certificate from Google and the industrial association IAB Europe.
