TUM School of Management Upholds EQUIS Accreditation and Prestigious Triple Crown Status

Munich, 3 June 2020 – Three years ago, TUM School of Management received the prestigious, internationally renowned EQUIS label for its excellence in research and teaching as the first business faculty of a technical university in Germany. Today, we are proud to announce that the TUM School of Management received the EQUIS reaccreditation for five years, the maximum reaccreditation period possible, and upholds its prestigious Triple Crown status accordingly!

The EQUIS signet is awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels (EFMD). It is a globally recognized certificate of quality, assigned with the aim of improving international management education. “The EQUIS reaccreditation today confirms our unique position at the interface between management and technology in an impressive way,” says Gunther Friedl, Dean of the TUM School of Management. “The accreditation board has commended the school for its distinctive expertise, and rigorous academic education, that have put us on a par with major international competitors. We have also received excellent feedback on our placement records: Many corporations are keen to collaborate with the school, the faculty, and our students, and our graduates are sought after from multinationals as well as start-ups. We are extremely proud to have received the EQUIS reaccreditation today, which is an essential part of our Triple Crown Accreditation”. As the first management school at a German technical university, TUM School of Management was honored to receive the prestigious Triple Crown Accreditation – AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA – in recognition of its excellence in technology-oriented teaching and research back in 2017.

Alfons Sauquet, Quality Services & EQUIS Director at EFMD said: “Congratulations to all the schools for their successful completion of their EQUIS re-accreditations. EFMD is happy to recognise the institutions’ endeavours in maintaining excellence. Particularly in these challenging times, they are showing unprecedented levels of resilience, flexibility, and innovation in their modes of programme delivery and in their engagement with their stakeholders. […] The distinctive expertise of the TUM School of Management, Technische Universität München and its faculty at the intersection of technology and management, as well as the rigorous academic education, meet the talent needs of the corporate world. Start-ups, as well as multinational organisations, seek graduates from the various programmes at TUM SoM to help them face the challenges of the future, such as coping with the effects of digital transformation.”
